What you need

Keep it simple:

You can run it as a whole-class demo on one projector, or have students design their own scenes on their laptops and take turns projecting.

A 45-minute lesson plan

  1. (5 min) Show an example and explain mapping. Show a projection-mapped scene and explain how visuals are aligned to a real surface.
  2. (10 min) Students open SquirrelCast and pick a template. Everyone opens the browser and chooses a starting template.
  3. (10 min) Open the projector window and align corners on a wall/box. Hit Project, drop the window on the projector, and drag the four corners to fit the surface.
  4. (10 min) Swap in their own image or an effect. Students import an image or add a generative effect to make the scene theirs.
  5. (5 min) Go fullscreen and present. Each student goes fullscreen and shows the class their scene.
  6. (5 min) Save/export the project. Save the scene locally or export the project file to revisit next class.
